Great Time for Catfish Anglers

There is a wide range of fishing is fine now, but some of the best will in the great lakes, in the rocky shallows, as channel catfish to their spawning spring action. Spawning usually takes place late May or early June, when the water temperature is 75 degrees.

Hollow logs, under overhanging ledges or holes under mud banks are nesting sites. Females lay about 10,000 eggs each. The men keep the nest against intruders, including women. Eggs in 6 to 10 days determined by temperature. After hatching, the fry of catfish are followed for a short period by the man as they feed in a dense school.

And it is certainly not difficult to find a prime location for this early summer, catfish action in the traditional Great Lakes. Each pond has literally mile after mile of rock riprap fill where a highway crosses the lake. Die zijn altijd 'hot spots' voor deze vissen, en natuurlijk kunnen ze geopend meest worden door een effectief boot hengelaars bewegen als langs de riprap, werken ze met een slip-Kurki tuig in een soort van goede meerval aas. My favorite is always cut bait.

But if you do not have a boat, you can choose a place somewhere along the rocky shores and set up a number of rods / reels with plugs for a good amount of water. Catfish can be taken at any time of day, but they are more active at night. Be patient and you'll catch your share of the catfish.
